Is Ocean Acidification Threatening Marine Life and Ecosystems?

Ocean acidification is posing challenges to the survival of shellfish and coral. Despite absorbing roughly a quarter of annual carbon pollution, our oceans are experiencing increased acidity levels. This acidity hinders the ability of shellfish and various species to form shells and impacts the nervous systems of sharks, clownfish, and other marine life.
